Frequently Asked Questions
What is an LED?
LEDs are semiconductors. Simply put, they are a light bulb on a circuit board. The filament is a diode or Light Emitting Diode.
LEDs are shock proof and will not shut down if stuck or impacted.
LEDs produce full brightness immediately when powered.
LEDs are famous for their long life: 50,000 hours.
White LEDs are designed to look white or replicate daylight at 6,500 degrees Kelvin.
White LEDs are highly visible. Being seen on the road is safer. I use my handlebar light for daytime commuting because it makes me super visible.
Why do we use individual cell batteries?
Because they are easily replaceable and you can even carry an extra set along with you to extend your runtimes.
Lithium Ion batteries will last for 200–300 charging cycles or about 2 years.
Why do we use a rotary power switch?
Ease of use, especially with cold, wet, gloved fingers that are half numb.
What is the low battery sensor telling me?
It’s telling you that your light is going to go out in a few minutes. 15 minutes on full power or 30 minutes on low power.
What happens if I install a battery backwards?
This will not damage the light because there is short circuit protection built into our controls. If (2) or more batteries are backwards then the light won’t turn on. However, If only (1) is backwards then the light will turn on and you will experience an unusually short runtime.
What happens if water gets inside of the battery pack?
The controls in the battery pack are well protected from water. The individual battery cells are not. You should immediately dry out the batteries and the inside of the battery pack as best as possible. Then leave the casing open so it can air dry for several days. Always store the light in a dry and warm place.
